extensively with include the New York Public Library, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Henry Ford, the American Kennel Club, the Museum of Natural
History, The New School, as well as the archives and collections of many other prominent designers and artists. Julie has written five books, three of which
she illustrated and designed based on her charming character, HenleyTM®. She is a graduate of the Parsons School of Design and received her MFA in
Illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Julie serves as an Adjunct Professor at Parsons School of Design, The School of Fashion, and Wayne
State University’s Fashion Design program. Julie and Facey, her Japanese Chin, divide time between New York City and Detroit, “The Paris of the Midwest”.
Fun Fact:
In 1987, Julie worked at The Grand Hotel as a chambermaid and lived over the horse stables. She lasted only two weeks. The following summer, 1988, she was
hired sight unseen from art school in New York City to be the hostess for the Iroquois Hotel, where all the cute girls worked. She lasted the whole summer, had
a great time, and has remained friends with the former owner's family ever since. It is through their kind generosity and support that this show is possible.
