Shepler’s Ferry line is the transit line habitually favored by the artist’s family. Memories of being greeted by the crew in their classic navy blue and white uniforms were always a welcoming sight when visiting Mackinac Island. Inspired by Photographer Lucy Gridley’s beautifully captured image of the aptly titled, The Welcome.
